Aberfeldy 21 Years Old Single Malt Whisky
Aberfeldy Distillery is nestled within a lush valley in the foothills of the Central Highlands of Scotland. Known as the ‘Golden Dram’, the distillery’s water source is the famous Pitilie Burn, renowned locally for its water quality and famed for its deposits of alluvial gold. Time-honoured techniques, such as longer fermentation, conjure rare honeyed notes – key to the signature sweetness of Aberfeldy’s malts.
Tasting Notes:
A heathery honey aroma and a full flavour with touches of Seville oranges, which linger on the tongue.
Nose: Exotic fruit, under-ripe crushed ground cherry and some honey.
Palate: Sensual delivery that would be recognized and wholly appreciated by fans of Highland Park thanks to the busy honey and semi-hidden waves of smoke, a few oaky touches appear early but enhance in a toasty rather than life-threatening way, the spices rave early on then settle.
Finish: A gentlemanly exit with its honeyed head held high to the last, no oaky screaming and shouting, just a few bitter-sweet farewells.
